APRIL 26, 2017 - DENIM DAY - SEXUAL ASSAULT PREVENTION CAMPAIGN

On Denim Day, students may wear jeans with a uniform top as a visible sign of protest against the myths that still surround sexual assault. Jeans must follow Free Dress Guidelines and tops must follow uniform requirements.

In 1998, an Italian Supreme Court decision overturned a rape conviction because the victim wore jeans. People all over the world were outraged and wearing jeans became an international symbol of protest against erroneous and destructive attitudes about sexual assault. On Denim Day, we unite against the sexual assault of girls, women, boys and men. We stand in support of survivors. We break the silence to end sexual violence. By participating in Denim Day, people promote prevention through education, and make it possible for more survivors of sexual assault to reach out and find help.

CAASPP TESTING BEGINS ON MONDAY, APRIL 17

We will start the CAASPP (California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress) testing on Monday, April 17th with our 8th grade students. Students are reminded to bring their own earbuds to their testing session. While students will be on a blocked scheduled from April 17th through May 12th, the bell schedule change does not effect the school start time nor the end time.

Please ensure your child is receiving an appropriate amount of sleep time and a well balanced breakfast for each day of testing. Although only certain classes will be testing per week, everyone should be respectful and mindful during the school day to those who are testing.

Help us reach our school-wide goal of 1600 socks! If the 1600+ students at Frost each donate a new pair of socks, imagine the difference we can make. If you can donate more, great! Donations can be dropped off on the Honor Court during lunch on each Monday and Thursday of October or in Mrs. Doh's Office.
