SOCKTOBER AT FROST

Socktober is a nonprofit event that collects new pairs of socks for the homeless people in our communities. Every day in the US, about 600,000 people live on the streets. Help us reach our school-wide goal of 1600 socks! If the 1600+ students at Frost each donate a new pair of socks, imagine the difference we can make. If you can donate more, great! Donations can be dropped off on the Honor Court during lunch on each Monday and Thursday of October or in Mrs. Doh's Office.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING NO HALLOWEEN COSTUMES

At Frost, we take great care and pride in providing all our students and staff with a safe and secure educational environment. We take a proactive approach in maintaining a secure campus by having one point of entrance during the school day and requiring all guests to sign-in through the Main Office.

As many of you are aware, there have been continuous news and social media reports regarding individuals with a clown persona appearing in public in a threatening manner. While this has not occurred at Frost, many of our students and families are expressing concerns. We are fielding phone calls daily from concerned parents or answering concerning questions from students.

In order to avoid any further confusion or undesirable reports that may cause fear or concern on others, Frost will not be allowing Halloween costumes to be worn on campus this year. We want to communicate this decision to you as early as possible in order for you to be able to plan ahead.

While the absence of an opportunity to wear costumes to school may disappoint some students, we want to emphasize that this decision is based upon the desire to maintain a safe campus.

Additionally, students will have multiple opportunities to participate in school-wide themed days this month:

Friday, October 14 – Crazy Sock Day
Friday, October 21 – Pink Shirt Day
Friday, October 28 - College Shirt Day
