Frost Middle School presents this Beyond the Bell Program to motivate students to perform at their capability and create opportunities to make going to college a viable long-term goal.

Goal(s): Students will be able to increase their self-esteem and learn the steps necessary to attend college.

Objective: to motivate students to make short-term and long term-goals that will allow them to achieve beyond their perceived abilities.

Program:

• Visit different types of colleges and universities
• Motivational materials-i.e. Freedom Writers
• Guest speakers-senior in high school, teachers
• Preparation for CST
• One-on-one counseling
• Field trips to other locations: Griffith Observatory, Gene Autry

Outcome: Students will understand why setting short term goals is needed to attain their ultimate goals.
